Inclement Weather Reminder

As the threat of a winter storm approaches our area, we would like to remind all religious and long-term cultural users of the FCCPS policy regarding school closures due to inclement weather.  If FCCPS facilities are closed a notification that; all activities are cancelled; will be given on a daily basis.  This includes our long-term church and cultural school users. If the school system closes on a Friday this does not mean schools are definitely closed on a Sunday; however if bad weather moves in on Saturday, then community use may be cancelled on Sunday.

There are several ways to determine if FCCPS facilities are closed for community use.

1. Listen to your local television and radio stations for information regarding the cancellation of community activities at FCCPS sites.
2. FCCPS cable channel FCC-TV - (Cox - Ch. 12, RCN - Ch. 2, Verizon Ch. 35)
3. FCCPS hotline number (703) 248-5500 x 3113.
4. FCCPS website: http://www.fccps.org/news/emergency.htm and refer to the Emergency Announcement bulletin. (It is highly recommended that organization register under the FCCPS "Keep In Touch" program to receive school closing announcements via email.  This registration can be accomplished by going to the FCCPS website.)
